Gilchrist Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about the Gilchrist Elementary PTO! We are eager to have you take an active role in your childs' educational environment. We have an exciting year planned for our students and encourage you to become involved! We are a busy group and need your help! Becoming a member does not mean you have to automatically sign up to volunteer, it just means you support our group and believe in what we're doing. Last year we were able to raise over $30,000 towards school programs, technology enhancements, library book purchases and teacher training. We welcome any and all time, talent and treasure you have to offer!

PTO Board Meetings

Gilchrist PTO Board meetings are held once a month. All meetings will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the media center. Meetings will last one hour. Meetings are open to any member who is interested in seeing how the PTO operates.

PTO General Membership Meetings

General Membership Meetings are held throughout the year. These meetings are open to all. Only Gilchrist PTO Members are allowed to vote on matters being discussed.

2011/2012 PTO General Membership Meeting Dates:

• Monday, September 12, 2011 - 5:00 p.m.
  Location: Cafeteria. Presentation of the annual budget, guests to support the theme of physical fitness, local athletic organizations and clubs as well as healthy eating options.
• Monday, October 17, 2011 - 5:00 p.m.
  Location: Cafeteria. General meeting with guests to support the theme of financial fitness, local financial institution will have information on a variety of savings plans, local businesses will present options for living on a budget.
• Tuesday, December 6, 2011 - 5:30 p.m.
  Location: Cafeteria. Mid-year report meeting Meeting along with a family board game night.
• Monday, February 6, 2012 - 5:00 p.m.
  Location: Cafeteria. General meeting agenda change - vote to approve distribution of PTO reserved funds to support the installation of shade structures throughout the campus. An open forum will be available for any questions and general discussion.
• Monday, April 9, 2012 - 5:00 p.m.
  Location: Cafeteria. General meeting with guests to support the theme of summer fun, local organizations to provide their information and summer camp schedules.
• Tuesday, May 15, 2012 - 5:00 p.m.
  Location: Cafeteria. Year-end report meeting along with a pot luck meal.
